Glass is the most common type of mirror material. Some of the benefits of glass mirrors are their longevity. They have a longer life and are more economical. Glass is the best material for reflectivity and can be easily cleaned.
Tempered glass is easily cleaned as well and equal with glass mirrors regarding reflectivity. The strong feature for tempered glass is they are shatter resistant and extremely strong.
Plexiglas, which is acrylic, is virtually unbreakable, has fairly good reflectivity and is lightweight. Plexiglas safety mirrors are mainly used in food processing plants, hospitals, and nursing homes.
Steel safety mirrors are both heat and impact resistant. These types are built for hazardous and vandalized areas.
