Freestanding fans are those that don’t need to be mounted to a wall or floor. They offer a higher level of versatility because they can be moved to whatever space they are needed. This category of industrial fans includes many portable fans and blowers.
Wall and panel mounted fans are affixed onto or within walls and usually are used for ventilation. This type of industrial fan also includes exhaust fans that can remove smoke, harmful gasses and unpleasant odors through an opening in a wall, ceiling or floor.
Duct fans and blowers are used with in-line duct work, which is supported by braces or flanges along the surface or inside walls and ceilings. Ceiling ventilation fans are use specially designed flanges that allow them to be mounted within ventilation systems. These types of industrial fans are frequently used to remove harmful fumes that can buildup in indoor spaces.
