Stretch wrap is similar to the plastic wrap that we can all find in our kitchens, but it is much, much more durable. Stretch wrap is also known as stretch film, pallet wrap, or hand wrap. It can be wrapped around boxes to secure it to a pallet for safe transport. Small items can be wrapped, saving valuable and expensive strapping. Because it can be used instead of tape, no sticky residue is going to tear up your boxes or leave an ugly mark that needs to be washed off on any products. Stretch wrap is puncture resistant and so it is perfect for outdoor shipping or for wrapping around a product that runs a risk of coming in contact with another item that may damage it. Arguably the best quality of stretch wrap is its “elastic band effect”. This means that stretch wrap has a memory and naturally returns to its original shape and size. This effect holds tight to packages no matter how oddly or awkwardly it may be wrapped.
Stretch wrap can be applied by hand, but that can be a tedious task and time consuming. Stretch wrap dispensers make life easier. Instead of having to climb over, under and around large packages to secure them, you can elect to use a stretch wrap dispenser to walk around the pallet, unwrapping the hand wrap as you go. At Bahrns Equipment, we offer two types of stretch wrap dispensers – heavy-duty and lightweight stretch wrap dispensers. Our lightweight dispensers hold stretch wrap rolls up to a foot and a half tall and are perfect for smaller jobs.
Heavy-duty stretch wrap dispensers are perfect for the larger jobs. Flexible rubber grips make it easy to wrap your hands around the handle without getting blisters or callouses. The grips also prevent the dispenser from slipping out of your hand as you make your way around. The slotted spool helps speed up the process of changing out the empty roll of stretch wrap for a new one. A ball-bearing wrap systems provides the tightest tension possible. This entirely ensures that any shaped or any sized package can be tied down securely to a pallet or anything it needs to be secured to without fear of it slipping loose.
Stretch wrap dispensers may seem to be optional. Once you begin to try using them, however, its a pretty sure thing that you won’t go back to unrolling stretch wrap with your own two hands. The time saved is worth the purchase by itself, never mind the energy you won’t be wasting on such a simple task.
