March 15, 2012 – In line with the long-term competitiveness and job-creating power project the present administration, President Obama announces the proposal of the $1 billion investment for creating the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation.
This project aims to bring together federal agencies, industries, colleges, universities and the state to accelerate industrial-relevant innovations and development. This project shall benefit the small scale and large scale industries as well as the entire economy. The National Network for Manufacturing Innovation should aim to develop low-cost and light-weight industrial materials that maybe used for new generation vehicles. The NNMI must also aim to refine the manufacturing standards, equipment and materials, as well as to create clever manufacturing methods and structures.
President Obama also announced that the NNMI (National Network for Manufacturing Innovation) will collaborate with the local government, the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Department of Defense.
