Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) reported that there is a positive growth in the over-all sales of material handling equipment in the first half of 2011. They also forecasted that the industry will continue to grow within the remaining months of 2011 and it will carry out until 2012. The MHIA says that it is a good sign especially since the economy is moving slow these past 18 months.
“Material handling equipment orders have grew 17.1% in the first half of 2011 and it will continue to progress in the second half by 11% and another 7.0% by 2012,” as quoted from Material Handling Equipment Manufacturing (MHEM) Forecast. Domestic demands alone grew by 13.1% in the first half and the remaining growth came from global demands.
MHIA is an association of international trades that represent the logistics and material handling industries. They release the MHEM forecast every quarter. To download the complete MHEM Forecast you can go to this SITE.
