Conveyco, a material handling company based in Bristol, Connecticut, will team up with the United Way this year to help provide area schoolchildren with new school clothes, backpacks and other school supplies.
The company, which is an integrator of Automated Material Handling Systems and Design Build Solutions, was provided by the charity with a list of school supplies that each child will need to begin the upcoming school year, including uniform sizes, colors and style preferences. Many of the company’s employees will then voluntarily purchase the clothing and supplies and pack them into a new backpack which will be presented to area students. Company officials will make a matching gift.
Victoria Wollenberg, Conveyco’s business development coordinator, said the business’ employees enjoy being able to help out other people within their community.
“Each year, we look forward to helping out the United Way through many different opportunities such as the Back to School Program,” Wollenberg said in a news release. “The response from the team is always impressive and a testament to the group of people that we have and our organizational commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.”
