The whole purpose behind plastic pallets is that they are reusable and very durable. What’s that you say? You can reuse typical wooden pallets? Of course you can, but those wooden pallets lose boards, nails, deteriorate from weather and chemicals not to mention insects. They also burn pretty good too. Plastic pallets will not absorb liquids or moisture and are easy to clean. Most plastic pallets are nestable, which means when stacked the feet slide nicely in the top of the other unused pallets allowing a tighter stack.
There are capacity definitions for plastic pallets are referred to as floor and fork. Floor equals the maximum weight capacity that can be sustained by a fully supported plastic pallet. In other words it’s a pallet resting on the floor or stacked for a long period of time. Fork is the maximum weight capacity that can be sustained by a pallet during transport on a forklift, a hand jack, or in a truck. Fork is also referred to as dynamic capacity.
