John Grandoff III has been appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to be the new commissioner of the busy Port of Tampa, the Sunshine State’s biggest sea cargo facility. Grandoff, a Tampa are attorney, will join six other commissioners who are responsible for managing the port, which generates an estimated $15 billion for the local economy each year. Five commissioners are gubernatorial appointees while the mayor of Tampa and one Hillsborough County commissioner are standing members of the port commission.
