A research team at Aalto University in Finland has discovered a new method to significantly reduce the fuel needs of material handling equipment and other machinery.
A lot of energy is wasted by industrial machinery during their operation. The Aalto University team has developed a new technology that captures wasted energy and uses it to power the equipment. With the new technology, the fuel consumption of industrial machinery can be reduced by 50%.
The Finnish research team headed by Professor Jussi Suomela is conducting ongoing studies at Aalto University’s HybLab research network. The endeavor is made possible by donations from private organizations.
