Two museums will receive antique materials handling equipment from the turn of the 20th Century thanks to the Raymond Corporation, a manufacturer of lift trucks and other materials handling equipment based in Greene, New York, according to a company news release. Two cast metal wheel carts that had been used at the Lyon Iron Works around the year 1900 are being donated to the Northeast Classic Car Museum, in Norwich, New York, and to TechWorks!, a museum at the Center for Technology & Innovation, in Binghamton, New York. The cast iron and wood carts were used to haul heavy equipment and other materials around the iron works site. Techworks! also will receive two original building signs from the iron works, which formerly occupied the site of Raymond’s current manufacturing facility.
