Washington State is gearing up for its 14th annual forklift rodeo, an event that promotes safety during forklift operation.
The Department of Labor and Industries and the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board are inviting professional forklift operators to compete in three regional qualifying competitions. The first will take place this Saturday, June 11, at the Volpentest HAMMER Training and Education Center in Richland. The second will be on July 9 in Spokane and the third is scheduled on August 20 in Auburn.
The final competition will be held during the 60th Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference in Tacoma on September 28 and 29. Only the top five forklift operators from each regional event can participate in the finals. The winner will get a cash prize and earn bragging rights as the state’s best forklift operator.
